1. What was your childhood like?

I came from such big family. On my father’s side, I have 12 uncles. I grew up with one brother and one sister. For sure, the best memories of my childhood are the whole family at the beach on vacations! 

2. Who was a hero to you growing up? Why?

Actually, there wasn’t just one hero for me. I see my whole family as an inspiration. They were my foundation, always supporting me with a good education and motivation to keep moving forward. 

3. What are your hobbies?

I really like to watch movies, TV series, and football. But nowadays, the best moments for me are spending time with my baby boy, who was born 3 months ago.  

4. How did you end up in metrology? Did you go to school for it?

When I was 17 years old, I graduated in Industrial Knowledge, so I got my first job, as a Quality Inspector, where I had my first contact with a 3D Scanning Arm and Laser Tracker.

5. How did you come to be at API?

After 7 years working at General Electric (GE), I heard about an opportunity through a friend. I applied and was approved to be a Metrologist at API. 

6. What are your roles and responsibilities with API?

I am in charge of Technical Services for API South America, leading the services team, evaluating opportunities, schedules, providing training and supporting the sales team.

7. What sets API apart from other metrology companies in your mind?

Working in a company where the CEO, Dr. Kam Lau, is the inventor of the Laser Tracker, sums-up everything. It is not just selling equipment; at API, we offer our customers the entire metrology solution. I must also mention the amazing working environment provided to us at API. 

8. What API Product or Service are you most excited to tell people about?

I really appreciate our line of Machine Tool Calibration equipment, especially the XD Laser Interferometer. It represents the extreme precision of a laser-based measurement system.

9. What about API’s future excites you?

At API, we can see on a daily basis, the focus on quality, in order to improve the solutions offered to our customers. That is a motivation for me!

10. What does “Nothing Beyond Measure” mean to you?

For me, it means that we are prepared to always offer the best metrological solution, whether in equipment or services.
