Automated Precision, Inc is seeking an engineer for software development to support state-of-the-art Laser Measurement Devices and Scanners. The candidate will be responsible for providing substantial technical contributions in a complex, time-sensitive, and safety-conscious working environment. The successful candidate should demonstrate an interest and aptitude for working effectively in dynamic, multi-discipline teams.

Required

- BS / MS in Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent.

- Programming fluency in C# and C++.

- Working knowledge in Python.

- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in object-oriented languages.

- Experience with version control software such as Git and SVN.

- Experience in UI design using .NET/MFC/QT framework.

- Experience in integrating 3rd party libraries such as OpenCV, BOOST, JSON, and XML parsers.

Preferred

- Strong mathematical fundamentals, including linear algebra and calculus.

- Experience in application software development using 3D visualization engines: OpenGL, VTK etc.

Laser Tracker Operator ( Metro Detroit MI Area)

Title: Laser Tracker Operator

Description: API’s Exact Laser Measurement (ELM) Division is seeking motivated young professionals for full-time measurement work in the Metro-Detroit area. Tracker Operators will take ELM equipment to customer sites and perform touch and scanning measurements, delivering fast, accurate results that keep customer manufacturing processes running smoothly. Tracker Operators will work in a variety of industrial environments, making inspections and verifications at various stages of the manufacturing process, from machine and factory component alignment to part inspection/verification to building scanning. Tracker Operators may also perform Laser Tracker Certification and other duties as directed out of our Plymouth, MI office. Tracker Operators will receive comprehensive in-house training on equipment setup/operation, software use, and best practices. Trainees will need to sign 1-year service commitment to ELM.

Requirements: Applicants must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and basic math skills. CAD Knowledge is preferred. Applicant must have, or be able to apply for, a passport and be willing to travel. Applicant must have clean driving record and pass a drug screening and criminal background check. Applicant must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

At the Headquarters Office in Rockville, MD, we are currently seeking to add to the team a motivated Calibration Technician. This position has upward mobility to several areas including our service engineering team, who performs contract measurement services for our customers.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Operate instruments with multiple computers for transferring/processing data files with different software and templates.
  • Assist manufacturing team in electro-mechanical assembly, calibration, data collection and data verification.
  • Perform precision alignment of optical parts to 10 microns
  • Work closely with the team on new product’s assembly and calibration processes
  • Recognizes out of tolerance conditions and initiate corrective action and documentation.
  • Report manufacturing issues to product engineers and provide feedback on proposed solutions
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associate Degree from a technical institution preferred.
  • Must possess good computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must have basic computer skill for transferring data between multiple computers.
  • Experience in calibrating and certifying products and accessories to meet tolerances and product specifications
  • Experience with 3D coordinate systems a plus

· Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports in order to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions.

· Mark and tag components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identified.

· Position, align, and adjust optical and mechanical parts to facilitate assembly.

· Pack finished sub-assemblies or assemblies and transport them to storage areas.

· Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan and review work activities, and to resolve production problems.

· Effectively communicate any supply chain issues that are affecting production.

The Requirements Are:

Prepares shipments by assembling, packing, protecting, and labeling containers.

Determines method of shipment by examining items to be shipped, destination, route, rate, and time of shipment.

Ships items by verifying identifying information and quantity and condition of items; loading and protecting items.

Documents items shipped by recording identifying information of items and transport information.

Maintains shipping and receiving materials by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed materials; placing and expediting orders for materials; verifying receipt of materials.

Verifies items received by checking identifying information of items; inspecting condition of items; comparing count/measure of items to purchase order and packing list.

Maintains inventory by marking and placing items in stock; establishing inventory reorder points; reporting items to be reordered.
