Automated Precision, Inc. (API) is a fast-growing high-technology company that specializes in developing the industry metrology solution. API is seeking a Production Manager to direct all manufacturing activities in our Rockville, MD facility.

The Production Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. The successful candidate should demonstrate an interest and aptitude for working effectively in a dynamic working environment.

Tasks:

· Create and implement standard operating procedures. Plan, direct all production activities and supervise the process.

· Manage day-to-day operations of Production, Quality Assurance, Repair, and Procurement Departments. Drive Production Team to execute production goals.

· Ensure effective management of production lines for operational excellence. Maintain a cost effective and high-standard production plant.

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree with 5-7 years’ Experience in mechanical, electronic, metrology, photonics, or related field.

· Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Laser Tracker Operator ( Metro Detroit MI Area)

Title: Laser Tracker Operator

Description: API’s Exact Laser Measurement (ELM) Division is seeking motivated young professionals for full-time measurement work in the Metro-Detroit area. Tracker Operators will take ELM equipment to customer sites and perform touch and scanning measurements, delivering fast, accurate results that keep customer manufacturing processes running smoothly. Tracker Operators will work in a variety of industrial environments, making inspections and verifications at various stages of the manufacturing process, from machine and factory component alignment to part inspection/verification to building scanning. Tracker Operators may also perform Laser Tracker Certification and other duties as directed out of our Plymouth, MI office. Tracker Operators will receive comprehensive in-house training on equipment setup/operation, software use, and best practices. Trainees will need to sign 1-year service commitment to ELM.

Requirements: Applicants must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and basic math skills. CAD Knowledge is preferred. Applicant must have, or be able to apply for, a passport and be willing to travel. Applicant must have clean driving record and pass a drug screening and criminal background check. Requirements:

Electrical Engineer (Rockville, MD)

The candidate will be responsible for providing substantial technical contributions in a complex, time-sensitive, and safety-conscious working environment. The successful candidate should demonstrate an interest and aptitude for working effectively in dynamic, multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities:

· Design electrical architecture and system, and electronic circuits.

· Design hardware, source components, develop schematics, manage layout, build and test prototypes to validate hardware design.

· Generate technical data packages, including schematics, PCB layout files, wiring drawings, and test reports.

· Work with mechanical, embedded systems, and software engineers to integrate subsystems and systems.

· Support the manufacturing and assembly processes.

Responsibilities:

· Develop firmware to interface with a variety of sensors and process the sensor data.

· Develop and implement computer vision algorithms for vision-based intelligence.

Electrical Assembly Technician (Rockville, MD)

Duties and responsibilities:

- Electrical assembly of small high precision instruments

- High quality soldering of PCB

- Downloading Firmware and Logic into PCBs

- Work closely with the group on new product’s assembly and calibration processes

- Assembly Integration of Optical and Mechanical modules

- Responsible for daily production activities and work different products as required

- Report manufacturing issues to product engineers and provide feedback on proposed solutions

- Mark and tag components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identified.

 

Knowledge, skills, abilities, and other requirements:

- Must have experience of

o Crimping of small connectors

o High quality soldering of PCB

o Good quality soldering of small pin connectors

o Reading Electrical drawing diagram

o Electrical wire/cable preparation

- Wiring, soldering and crimping of small wires inside the instrument with limited access

- Installing PCBs into systems with complicated wiring following electrical drawings

- Must be a detail oriented individual and willing to learn new skills
