OPERATION

AUTOMATED CALIBRATION

Active Target™ paired with a Radian Laser Tracker allows for automated tracking and inspection of machine tools, CNC machines, and industrial robots.

SMR-BASED ACCURACY

Active Target houses a break-resistant SMR(spherically mounted retroreflector). SMRs track over 80m in range with accuracies of ± 2.5 microns. SMRs offer high accuracy line of sight measurement.

360° TRACKING

The center reflector of the motorized target has 360° rotation enabling continuous lock-on to the laser tracker and eliminating beam breaks (infinite AZ rotation).

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

MOTORIZED TARGETING

Active Target’s built-in motorized technology automatically orients the reflector to face the laser tracker regardless of part movement.

360° OF MEASUREMENT

The center reflector of the motorized target has 360° rotation enabling continuous lock-on to the laser tracker and eliminating beam breaks (infinite AZ rotation).

SMR GRADE TARGET CENTERING

Active Target reflector has same accuracy as a SMR.

SAFE AND EASY USE

Battery powered and cable free, Active Target is safe and will not snag on machine parts.

MOUNTING VERSATILITY

Weighing in at only 0.9kg (2lbs) the Active Target is designed to be mounted industrial Robots & CNC machines.

APPLICATIONS

Active Target™ is a battery powered self-orienting motorized 360° rotation SMR that locks onto the laser tracker and automatically orientates to the laser beam allowing for automated tracking and measurements of machine tools, industrial robots, or automation where a standard SMR cannot perform. Applications include:

  • Volumetric Error Calibration (VEC)
  • Machine Tool Inspection
  • Robotic Inspection
  • CNC Calibration
  • Rail Alignment
  • CMM Tracking
