1) What was your childhood like?
I had a wonderful childhood. I grew up in the Philippines and have 3 sisters. I spent most of my time outdoors and played a LOT of basketball.
2) Who was a hero to you growing up? Why?
I looked up to Michael Jordan, probably because he played the same sport I liked to play. He inspired me to work hard in all aspects of my life and taught me that teamwork was essential, not only in sports, but in other areas of your life. That success is obtained through hard work and dedication. Anything is possible when you put your mind to it.
3) What are your hobbies?
This one is easy. I like to create things, so I love to cook and build/design things for my cars. When I’m not in the kitchen or outside tinkering with my cars, you can find me walking my two Victorian Bulldogs or playing some hoops.
4) How did you end up in metrology? Did you go to school for it?
My degree is actually Bachelor’s of Science for Electronics and Communications Engineering. To to be honest, I didn’t know much about metrology before API contacted me.
5) How did you come to be at API?
API reached out to me, and when I interviewed with them, I thought the products and services they provided were really interesting. Over the years of being here, I’ve loved what I’ve learned about metrology and the company.
6) What are your roles and responsibilities with API?
To sum it up in two words: Almost everything. As a Product Manager, I’m pretty heavily involved in all aspects of the business. I oversee Engineering and Production as they design, create, and test products; the Sales teams as they demonstrate and distribute the products; and our Customers as they integrate and optimize our products for their manufacturing processes.
7) What sets API apart from other metrology companies in your mind?
One of the biggest advantages of API against our competitors, is that we offer the best solution and work closely with our customers for their application needs. Not to mention, API is the pioneer of Laser Trackers!
8) What API Product or Service are you most excited to tell people about?
This is a hard question. It’s hard for me to be excited about just one product since I’m a Product Manager. Here at API, we offer solutions, not only products. A solution doesn’t only include a product, it can include multiple products (hardware and software), customer service, and support.
9) What about API’s future excites you?
API is always advancing technological solutions for manufacturing and other industries; we are driven by the industry’s needs for solutions. This means we are always innovating, improving, and adapting – no one day, client, or product is the same. Seeing what we create and develop in a single day is exciting!
10) What does “Nothing Beyond Measure” mean to you?
“Nothing Beyond Measure” means that API can always deliver a solution. As Michael Jordan would say, “Never say never, because limits, like fear, are often just an illusion.”
