USA North America
Machinist - Rockville, MD
The Ideal candidate will: Set up, operate, or tend lathe and milling machines to turn, bore, thread, form, or face metal or plastic materials.
Responsibilities:
· Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometer and calipers
· Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachment, accessories, and materials onto machines
· Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work
· Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
· Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lather, milling machines, shapers, or grinders
· Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations
· Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers
· Inspect samples work pieces to verify conformance with specifications, using instruments such as gauges, micrometer, and dial indicators
· Study blueprints, layouts or charts, and job orders for information on specifications and tooling instructions, and to determine material requirements and operational sequences
· Adjust machine controls and change tool settings in order to keep dimensions within specified tolerances
· Move controls to set cutting speeds and depths and feed rates, and to position tools in relation to work pieces
· Start lath or turning machines and observe operations to ensure that specifications are met
· Select cutting tools and tooling instructions, according to written specifications or knowledge of metal properties and shop mathematics
· Crank machines through cycles, stopping to adjust tool positions and machine controls to ensure specified timing, clearances, and tolerances
· Replace worn tools, and sharpen full cutting tools and dies using bench grinders or cutter-grinding machines
· Position, secure, and align cutting tools in tool holders on machines, using hand tools, and verify their positions with measuring instruments
Requirements:
· High school or equivalent; technical school preferred.
· Minimum 7 years' experience with the set up and operation of CNC milling, 3D 4-axis machining.
· Require the reading and interpretation of complex mechanical blueprints with GD&T. Experienced with wide variety of precision measuring equipment. Basic knowledge of using measuring instruments, machine tools and electronic meters.
· Ability to work independently.
Electrical Engineer- Rockville, MD
Based in Rockville, MD, Automated Precision, Inc. (API) is a leading manufacturer of laser measuring and metrology products specialized in developing industrial metrology solutions. API is seeking a new talent to support the development of state-of-the-art laser measurement devices and scanners. The candidate will be responsible for providing substantial technical contributions in a complex, time-sensitive, and safety-conscious working environment. The successful candidate should demonstrate an interest and aptitude for working effectively in dynamic, multi-discipline teams.
Position Summary:
· Own all aspects of electronics design from concept to production.
· Own custom PCB from start to finish: specification, architecture, circuit design, schematic, layout, prototype, validation, and manufacturing support.
· Be part of a cross-disciplinary team that is solving problems spanning optics, mechanics, electronics, firmware, and software.
· Draft and maintain engineering documentation.
· Work with technicians to build test fixtures for engineering test and improving efficiency of production.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related fields with relevant work experience.
· Experience developing electrical systems from design through production.
· Strong understanding of analog & digital circuits.
· Knowledge of sensors and their signal conditioning.
· Experience developing low-noise analog front-end circuits and high-speed ADC systems.
· Familiarity in PCB CAD software (Altium preferred).
· Experience with board manufacturing including the creation of fab packages, BOM management, EMS selection, and communication.
· Experience with CE, FCC, UL, and other electrical certifications.

Instrumentation Engineer – Rockville, MD
We are a leading manufacturer of laser measuring and metrology products. Our systems are used in a variety of industries including aerospace, shipbuilding, heavy equipment manufacturing, machine tool, energy and construction verticals. At the corporate headquarters in Rockville, MD, we are currently seeking to add to the team an Instrumentation Engineer.
Role:
Provide testing of new products before shipment and of incoming products for repair and calibration. Perform failure analysis and provide corrective action, which may include interacting with engineering for design changes or product improvements. Participate in and prepare customer site visits and equipment delivery as well as technical support for trade shows and exhibitions. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Regional Sales Managers, field sales representatives, distributors, and new and existing customers.
Tasks:
Provide technical support in person and via telephone.
Work with product managers, research & development engineers to support customer requirements.
Provide equipment functionality and capability reports to the sales force, and acting as technical liaison to the sales team.
Work with QA to ensure customer satisfaction.
Diagnose and debug product issues in the field.
Utilize Software experience to craft software demonstrations to a diverse client base.
Work with the customer and business development team to support pre and post-sales efforts.
Specialize in understanding the API product suite and providing recommendations for the best solutions to meet customer needs.

Junior Accountant - Newport News, VA
Primary Duties
The Junior Accountant prepares financial documents such as invoices, bills, accounts receivable, accounts payable, commission reports and other financial records for entry into computer software, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory compliance.
Accounts Payable
- Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records.
- Manage subcontractor accounts for compliance as well as 1099 report preparations.
- Supporting the preparation of the monthly corporate credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of commission reports for management, ensuring corporate policies are adhered to.
Accounts Receivable
- Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable
- Create invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers
- Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions
- Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Collections Manager and other staff
General Ledger
- Maintain balance sheet schedules and record journal entries as necessary to ensure all transactions have been recorded and GL balances are accurate while taking ownership of assigned accounts
- Assist in month-end closing activities including bank reconciliations
- Support the preparation of financial reports and analyses as needed
- Support the preparation of the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist with profitability analysis, as needed
